How VAT works in China
The standard VAT rate in China is 13%, applied to most goods and services. For example, adding VAT to a net price of CNยฅ100.00 adds CNยฅ13.00 in tax for a gross price of CNยฅ113.00; removing VAT from CNยฅ113.00 gives back the CNยฅ100.00 net price.
