Frequently asked questions
How many working days are there in Ethiopia?
Pick any date range and we count the weekdays, then subtract public holidays that fall on a weekday.
Are public holidays included?
Yes. National public holidays in Ethiopia are excluded from working days and listed for your range.
Are weekends counted?
No. Saturdays and Sundays are excluded automatically; only Monday to Friday are counted as working days.
Do public holidays that fall on a weekend reduce the count?
No. A holiday on a Saturday or Sunday does not reduce working days, because weekends are already excluded. That is why a country with twelve public holidays may lose only nine working days in a given year.
Which holidays are used for the count?
We use the official national public holidays of Ethiopia for the selected year and exclude the ones that fall on a weekday.
